Ok I'm left out but what's a Mary Sue? Where did that term come from?

It's a fanfic term. When someone writes a story with an original main character who is always super beautiful and amazing at like everything who the real main character (or just the super hot character) of the story abandons everyone and everything he ever cared about before to fall in love with the original character.
