Not only is Project Runway finally coming back on August 1st... but Tim Gunn is going to be in a comic book. And it will be awesome.
"But what would the angels be without someone to guide them? Enter Tim Gunn of “Project Runway.” In the debut issue’s second story, Mr. Gunn becomes an action figure — jumping into Iron Man’s suit of armor to save a fashion exhibition from evildoers."

Iron Gunn? Greatest thing ever? Y/Y?

I spent part of last night and today watching So NoTORIous. I was not expecting to enjoy this as much as I did. I mostly came for Sylar as the GBFF, but I'll be damned if I didn't get a kick out of something in every episodes. VH1 needs to cancel some Flava/Rock of STDs and bring this shit back. I don't care if Tori Spelling is married with children now.

Also grr what the hell Amano? I don't want to go back to watching the fairly crap Reborn! anime for the Arcobaleno stuff. That should be in the manga, but we're too busy playing King of All Cosmos and junk. >=(

Ten days till The Tonight Show with Conan O'Brien and I'm so crazy ready. I've missed that man so much.

A. Post a list of up to 20 books/movies/anime/TV shows/video games/etc. that you've had an obsessive fannish love of at some time in your life.
B. Have your flist guess your favorite character and/or pairing from each item.

Here be fandoms... )

Keep in mind... it's really hard to get some of these wrong... Also hints available upon request.

So like... I'm getting back into anime again... I blame it solely on the fact that there are quite a few interesting series this season. My load won't nearly be as large as it once was I'm going for roughly five series (six this season if I end up liking all the ones I'm gonna try) and then maybe one or two older series depending on if they're streaming on a legit service.

So for this season I'm going for...

Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood - I solely blame my reinterest in anime-watching on this series. Thank goodness someone is streaming it though or I probably would have drug my feet on watching it. After seeing the first episode I have to give it a thumbs up. Maybe it's just because I've been so long without seeing the first series or been so long without seeing anything... I was totally pleased.

Eden of the East - Kenji Kamiyama + Production I.G. + Chika Umino + Pantless Male Lead = I can't resist. You had me at Pantless Male Lead. (Can he dethrone Princess Tutu's Mythos as the Pantless Wonder?) Everything I've heard has been awesome. The lack of pants is just a bonus.

Guin Saga - My inner fantasy nerd took notice of the series, but I wasn't expecting much based on what little digging I did. I've heard some good things so I'll go for it.

Basquash! - What's that you say? Mecha basketball? And I still haven't heard anything negative?

Ristorante Paradiso - A fun romance series is mandatory for my new anime watching schedule.

La Corda D'Oro ~secondo passo~ - What can I say? I enjoyed the first season and it's conveniently streaming on crunchyroll. I am weak. Also it's apparently only two episodes long so... I really can't resist.

As for the older series... I'm in a toss up between finally getting around to Kaleido Star and Natsume Yuujin-Chou. I might break down and go for both if I end up not liking one of the series I'm gonna try out.

So I was randomly on wiki and decided to look up Kaiji for some reason and I came across this:
The first part of the manga (13 volumes), was adapted as a 26-episode anime television series called Kaiji (カイジ), which began airing October 2007. Madhouse has revealed that a second season of the Anime is planned.

That so better be true! You better push my level of squick more! No source was listed though =(

So we did our first team run for state contest on Friday. It was frantic and we got no points, but I think it went well. We know that we can get in there and get stuff done and done right without too many problems in the amount of time we have to get done. Our biggest problem was the small details (i.e. arranging thing in the right order.) But now we know what we need to work on this month.

I feel double glad that things went okay on my end (I was the only one to get points for my job!) because I volunteered to handle Microsoft Access stuff which meant learning how to use Access in less than four days. Now I just have to hope they ask me to do something fairly uncomplicated.

[livejournal.com profile] kohikki has me watching Hetalia. Why do I love it so? Why is that the only anime I've touched in months? I really need to get back into the swing of watching stuff. Especially with that new Fullmetal Alchemist series coming down the road.

Also I love this song.

So I'm gonna be moving soon. We're buying a house and we're supposed to be closing on Wednesday. This means I (finally) get my compy back! Whoo! It also means I'll be getting a new computer soon. Man it will be awesome to be able to run more than two things at a time. I'll also finally have time to actually play the gob of video games I've gotten this year. Poor FFXII... I haven't touched you in forever.

My sexy Gundams... I am missing them. D=

I finally dropped the big hint that I want all four seasons of House for Christmas (you know by pointing at them in the store and saying "I want that for Christmas." It was super subtle.) I also plan on getting myself Persona 4 for Christmas. Now I just need to figure out what to get everyone else...

I passed my first cerification at school on Wednesday (we didn't have school on Thursday or Friday.) Whoo! I also enrolled to get college credit through OSU Okmulgee. Double whoo!

I need a haircut. My bangs are seriously getting on my nerves. They're at the annoying length that's too short to stay in a pony tail, but too long to be anything by annoying. It's driving me crazy.

I'm also tempted to by a rename token and some extra userpics (even though I can't seem to fill up the 49 slots I already have.)

Oh I saw Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull the other night. It wasn't bad. Still can't be Last Crusade, but really nothing can. Some of it was pretty WTF, but I enjoyed the little moments.

And finally... OMG TERRA IS FINALLY CONFIRMED FOR DISSIDIA! WHOO! NOW IF ONLY SQUARE WOULD HURRY UP AND REMAKE FFVI FOR SOMETHING.

I need to rant about this... I've been ticked off about this since about 9 this morning and I thought I could get over it... but I need to rant. Sorry if you don't care.

Eyeshield 21 dub rant... and I liked the voice acting! )

Woot! Random update time! This one is about the spring anime season!

So the spring anime season is in it's second week and things are still looking freaking amazing. I can't remember seeing so many shows with so much potential premiering all at once! It's madness! MADNESS!

Shows I've checked out this season! )

I also (finally) finished the Nodame Cantabile drama while the anime was on a break. I cried. The actors all did a great job. I hope there's more someday.

Since I've missed commenting on some stuff... and when I say rambling... I mean rambling.

CLAMP finally gave us another Kurogane and Fai splash page in this week's Tsubasa and it is in COLOR! Woot! And xxxHOLiC finally returns and it has Haruka! Double woot!

FUNimation made a slew of announcements this week... the ones that interest me: Officially announcing Mushishi and picking up the most entertaining mecha series I have ever seen, Sousei no Aquarion. (Seriously. That series owns. It has people orgasming when mechs combine, a guy who acts like a dog, cross dressing, and a set of male/female twins played by Romi Paku that sound almost exactly alike. How can people not love it?!)

I finally finished up the second season of Major. More people need to watch this series. By far the best sports series I've seen (not that I've seen a lot of them) but it has cute kids playing baseball in season one and older, but still cute kids playing baseball in season two. It was nice to hear Masakazu Morita play older Toshi in season two. The only thing I've really heard him in is Bleach where he's always got that Ichigo-like tone going on. It actually took me a bit to pick up that it was him because Toshi is much softer and polite sounding than Ichigo. =P

And speaking of Bleach... I am totally loving Hiyori's voice. It is perfect. I also noticed that Akon was doing the preview for 113 (DB missed and translated it as "Ah, Kon-san") with Rin (the cute little green haired one)... how the hell does a character who was cut from the anime get to do a preview? XD

And... that's all I got. =|

While randomly surfing on YouTube I came across a clip from the One Piece dub of Zoro with Sanji's lollipop. They actually went in and edited Zoro's little cotton ball cleany thing he does with his swords (I'm sure if has a name) to look like Sanji's "lollipop". And in script is Zoro saying the line "I want to know what Sanji is always slurping on." I can't decide if I should laugh at that line or groan over them making Zoro mistreat his babies. =(

I think that the current Bleach episodes (on both sides of the Pacific) are gonna be what has me totally separating myself from the fandom. (I'm already partly detached.) I don't want to listen to even more whining about fillers. I don't want to hear them whining about a dub that is actually pretty damn good. (And if it were actually possible... I would ram the One Piece dub down the throat of every singly person who complains about how Bleach or Naruto has been ruined by their dubs.)

Also... WATCH MAJOR! It will make you laugh and it will make you cry (I don't even want to go into the number of times I cried during the first season.) Even though it is a series about baseball, it is so much more than that. Such a wonderful focus on the characters rather than the game. I'm currently watching the second season and I absolutely adore it. Goro is adorable (and a bit assy at times... but his adorableness balances it out... so it's okay. =P) This is such an underloved series!

I think the spoiler for Tsubasa 140 just melted my brain a little. Holy shit it is getting good again (and without the help of X characters this time. =P)

The new Code Geass opening sucks eggs. The song starts out good, but turns into crap pretty quickly. And come on Sunrise... change ALL the animation in the opening... or at least take out the shot of C.C.'s ass. I'm getting kinda tired of looking at it. (Though Mao and Schneizel got lineup pictures... but so did racist Nina. =()

I changed my layout back to the Doumeki and Watanuki sitting on my journal thing. I can't decide if I want to just leave them up there or change to something different.

And Geneon licensed Rozen Maiden! Yay! ♥

Happy (almost) New Year! Yay 2007! Here's hoping you are just as awesome as 2006 wasn't. =|

So I've been watching a lot of Digimon on ToonDisney lately. I've got about three episodes of Tamers left to see and I'm almost halfway into Frontier and I've come to a few conclusions.

1. Digimon is about 700 times cooler than Pokemon will ever be.
2. Gabumon will forever be the greatest Digimon ever.
3. It has the catchiest theme ever. That's like the one time where replacing the Japanese with an English song was totally awesome. Why they decided not to use it in Frontier is beyond me. That automatically makes me like it less than the other three.
4. For a Saturday morning cartoon... Digimon got away with a lot. A lot.
5. For a series about kids with pet monsters... Digimon gets into some issues. (Got nothing on Shadow Star Narutaru, which actually makes my skin crawl a bit and is one of the most misleading series I have ever been exposed to, but still pretty heavy stuff.)
6. Digimon dubs > All other dubs. You cannot beat it in my eyes. If Savers isn't dubbed in LA... I will rant. And no one wants to see that.

And I want to rant about the people bitching about Bleach filler... but I just don't feel like getting into it. =(

Oh! I've also discovered that ToonDisney plays old Power Rangers episodes at like 11 something at night and early in the morning. It's like watching my childhood all over again. =)
queendork56: (Default)
Revolutionary Girl Utena: The Movie (a.k.a. The Adolescence of Utena) = Trippiest movie I have ever seen. End of Evangelion be damned!

Akio leaping over cars was hilarious though.

Okay so I just finished up Ergo Proxy... not as head-hurting as I was expecting, but still confusing.
Cutting... may be a few semi-spoilery comments. )

Holy crap I haven't been to livejournal in a long ass time (at least been here long enough to do something other than grab the latest Tsubasa/xxxHOLiC chapters from [livejournal.com profile] ladydarkmoon.)

So let's see what kind of fandom rambling I've missed out on. I'm gonna cut it... just for the hell of it. )

And now I'm going to change my mood theme... (finally found an xxxHOLiC one!)
queendork56: (Default)
Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex: Solid State Society trailer (Holy hell that is one long title.) It looks like it's gonna be good one. But my overall thoughts on the trailer can be summed up in one word: haircuts. =( Batou's ponytail... gone. (Though he does looks good without it.) Even Togusa's mullet got attacked by the scissors. =(

Ten more episodes and I'm gonna be done with the first season of Sailor Moon. I forgot how much I used to love this series when I was younger. =P
queendork56: (Default)
Buh... I feel so out the routine. I go a few days without checking LJ and now I've totally fallen out of the norm and keep forgetting about it. :(

I caught up on the Tsubasa manga yesterday and I can feel this big, fangirling, rambling post coming about all the crazy bloody, angsty, ass-grabbing action of the last handful of chapters. I might wait till Wednesday and 125 though.

School Rumble got licensed by FUNimation. Whoo! And ADV fails at random name generators. They licensed Utawarerumono (which is translates to "The One Being Sung"... a very nice sounding title for a fantasy) and are going to call it Shadow Warrior Chronicles. There is not an emoticon that can express the WTF?!ness of ADV's naming ability.

Also... Keroro Gunso (Sgt. Frog) is seven sorts of awesomeness. How can you not love adorable little alien frogs that want to build Gundam models take over the Earth? (Especially when one is totally badass and voiced by Jouji Nakata?)

And now to give my poor, neglected FL some love...
queendork56: (Default)
Wow... it's been forever since I updated last. :O

Let's see... this afternoon I went out to the garage (where our fridge) and found that freezer door didn't shut all the way and it was open all night. I'm ready to throttle my smallest cat. He insists on sleeping on my bed now and he keeps waking me up in the morning.

Found a batch torrent with all 200 episodes of the Sailor Moon anime so I've been watching that. It's like I'm reliving a part of my childhood. I still remember getting up at like six in the morning to watch Sailor Moon on TV when I was in the 4th grade. I don't get up at six in the morning for anything nowadays. :P

Bleach OST 2 -- been really enjoying it. I've liked the filler music since the first filler episode. I actually like 90% of the tracks on this OST (I only liked half or less on the first one.) But where, oh where is the 11th Division Beat Collection? I wanna hear 11th Division singing!

And finally... a bit of Project Runway 3 talk from last night's episode... spoilers )

I'm in such a good mood today! Other than accidentally mixing together two Kool-Aid flavors and finding out that someone tried to cut our water hose in two (who... I don't know, but you can tell it was cut) today has been pretty good. :)

Oh my gosh! [adult swim] is rerunning Big O. I ♥ that series. The cheesy opening, the Batman: TAS feel, the chemistry between Roger & Dorothy... Beck Gold. I ♥ it.
