The episode starts at the Urahara Shop. It seems that everyone spent the night there. Ichigo and Renji head back upstairs for breakfast. After some Nova awesomeness, Renji experiencing coffee, Orihime eating weird stuff again, and some observations by Claude we jump into the action. As we all know Yoshino left during the night. Ishida tries to sneak off after her, but gets caught by Ririn. Ishida grabs Ririn and asks him to lead the way to Yoshino. Jin is still at the ruins of the mansion. He fixes the grandfather clock while he talks to the Bounts.
Later on he's sitting on the couch alone in the middle of the ruins. Yoshino shows up and calls out her doll. Ishida and Ririn arrive at the gates of the mansion. Back at the Urahara Shop they make plans to go after Ishida. Urahara suggests that Ichigo and Renji go first because they can use shunpo. Yoshino's doll attacks Jin, but he easily dodges all attacks. Ishida appears and Jin takes advantage of Yoshino's distraction. He holds her from behind and holds her ring (that helps create her doll) between his fingers causing the Doll to be pinned to the ground.
Ichigo and Renji arrive at the mansion but are cut off by Maki and Koga (Mr. Chuck Torris). Jin talks a bit and then breaks the ring that Yoshino wears. He drops her to the ground and her doll starts to break up. (Actually the "armor" that it has starts to rip open and fire is leaking out.) The Doll makes a flaming charge at Jin (and Yoshino) causing a large fire to break out. Ishida managed to get Yoshino to safety. It looks like Jin is toasted, but he appears in the fire totally unharmed. His shirt is ripped and it reveals strange markings on his chest. Jin puts the fire out with a wave of his arm.
Yoshino then stands up and holds out her right arm in the direction of her Doll. She starts to glow blue and her Doll's flames turn blue. It makes another charge at Jin, destroying the ground as it goes. Just before it reaches Jin the "armor" breaks apart and the fire become formless. A huge explosion occurs. Yoshino runs to stand in front of the fire, she holds our her arms and a part of Doll goes into them. She hugs her Doll and fire surrounds her as it disappears. Ishida watches on as the fire grows in strength. The mass of fire in front of him takes off toward the sky... Yoshino has fused herself with the remains of her doll.
Yoshino!Doll goes after Jin. They both end up hovering in the sky, fighting each other. They're pretty evenly matched. Down on the ground, Ichigo and Renji still have their hands full with Maki and Koga. Jin grabs Yoshino!Doll by the throat, but she blasts him back with blue energy in the shape of her Doll. The former lovers face each other down and charge toward each other. Ishida yells for them to stop, but they don't listen. Jin impales his arm through Yoshino's midsection. Her "armor" shatters and she falls hard to the ground. Ishida rushes to her side, but it's too late. Yoshino says goodbye to Ishida and dies in his arms. She greensparks away leaving only her clothes behind and one very hurt Quincy behind. Ishida is visably upset. He cries. He screams. (This was a hard scene to watch. I don't care if she is just a filler character. The scream... holy crap.)
Yoshino's greenspark particles gather at Jin's feet (who is still in the air above Ishida.) A strange red symbol appears at his feet. Maki and Koga leave their fights. Strange insects emerge from the symbol. Jin laughs evilly and disappears. Ichigo and Renji watch on from the ground in confusion as the insects fly off overhead. The red symbol disappears leaving Ichigo and Renji completely puzzled.
I have no idea what's happening next week. The preview just shows lots of plushie action and some general Hanatarou goodness.
Chad was in the opening this week.
But omg! I was all O_O when Yoshino died. I knew she was probably gonna die, but I didn't think it'd be like that. (Fusing with her Doll and being impaled by her former lover. I just thought that they were gonna destory her doll and she'd die like the Twins did.) Filler or no filler... that was one of the best Bleach episodes in a long while.
I'm guessing that Jin is fused with Doll and that's why he's all uber strong.

Date: 2006-05-09 01:28 pm (UTC)This filler arc was worked on--you can tell. Maybe the animation budget was lousy but whoever was drawing Ishida did so very lovingly, and he looks better in some scenes than he does in the early anime. Not everything can be on a par with his fight with Mayuri.
But yey! Ishida angst!
