VIZ finally gave us some freaking info!

Ichigo - Johnny Yong Bosch
Rukia - Michelle Ruff
Isshin - Patrick Seitz
Karin - Kate Higgins
Orihime - Stephanie Sheh
Tatsuki - Wendee Lee
Ishida - Derek Stephen Prince

OMG! Yay for Stephanie Sheh as Orihiime. She does Eureka in Eureka seveN and Hinata in Naruto... she has that sweet, but not totally annoying voice that Orihime needed. I'm so happy with that.

Michelle Ruff... hmmm... she'll be a bit higher than the Japanese, but the's a damn good actress so I think she can totally get the personality down.

I'm not gonna comment on Ichigo just yet. I have faith that Johnny Bosch can do it, but since I didn't like Morita as Ichigo until like the mid-teens I'm not gonna judge Ichigo till then.

Everything else looks pretty good. Wendee Lee owns the tomboys. Already knew Kate Higgens was gonna be Karin (should be good... she does bitchy well.) I find it funny that Ishida's VA did Ken Ichijouji in Digimon season 2... those two characters could almost be brothers. I've never heard Isshin's actor in anything so hopefully he's good.

But OMG! Yay for being happy about this dub! I just hope they have a good director. Good directors are important.

Now if people will just STFU about Bosch in Eureka seveN... the whole dub fails due to shitty directing. >_>

Ichigo - Johnny Yong Bosch

Dude, I had a massively shitty day today but this just made it totally better. Johnny done got himself the damn lead! I'm not too sure about the other folks but I'll wait until the dub airs. Either way, I'm excited.

I'm excited too. There are a few people on the [as] boards bitching about it (because of what he's done in Eureka seveN... which was totally the fault of the director), but I'm excited. I think he'll do a good job.

I wish I knew who was doing Urahara... :(

I'm all hyped up now. I wish my friend was awake so I could tell her. It'll tickle her to shit to find out Ichigo is the Black Ranger XD

The E7 story is... Yuri Lowenthal (Sasuke in Naruto) was originally cast as Renton. After dubbing part of the series with him they decided that his voice was too low for Renton and recast Johnny Bosch. (In the Japanese version Renton was done by the woman who did the voice of the brat who played the piano in that one episode of Ouran so his voice was kinda low anyway.) So Johnny came into the series without really knowing anything about the character. He had to dub the first season (1-13) in like half the time it would normally take and the director kept trying to get him to higher and higher into a range that Johnny himself said was uncomfortable for him. After they hit the second season he was able to take it down a bit into a place that he was comfortable (which is about the same as what he used for Last Exile and Paranoia Agent.)

But people have been griping about his performance constantly for weeks now. The dub is all over the place though. Mispronunciations, miscasting, even using the wrong terms for things and translating things in one episode, but leaving them untranslated in another.


Yumichika better sound just as prissy as the Japanese and Ikkaku's voice better be hot.
