[does it come in black?]
Jun. 18th, 2005 08:06 pmWe went to see Batman Begins today. ZOMG! So good.
Christian Bale was amazing! He pulled off both sides so well. I was blown away. And I had a lot of doubts about this movie when set reports were coming out.
Okay first off... I had a lot of doubts about this movie. When I first heard Micheal Caine would be Alfred I was like "No way. That can't work. Micheal Caine is a great actor but he just isn't Alfred." Alfred from the first movies was just so great. I was very impressed by Micheal Caine's ability to slip into that role. (He is an incredible actor after all.)
I was a bit worried about Christian Bale as I haven't seen him in much. (And what I have seen wasn't impressive... the movies just sucked so bad.) He is the best Batman. He pulled off the angst. He pulled off the sauve smoothness. He pulled off the intenstiy. He just pulled it off.
The Batmobile was my biggest concern. I was like "WTF?! SINCE WHEN DOES BATMAN DRIVE A TANK?!" But the Batmobile's scene.... awesome. I was just like "OMG! That's so cool!"
Gary Oldman was so great asComissioner Gordon. I think I just love Gary Oldman.
I wasn't too sure about Katie Holmes either. She was better than I expected.
The guy who played the Scarecrow... everytime he was on screen I was trying to figure out where I've seen this guy before. Looking over his IMDb page I haven't seen any of his movies so I'm still "where the hell have I seen you before?" (He sorta reminded me of Boone from LOST but cuter.) Anyway... he did a great job too.
Liam Neeson = scary bad guy. That's probably just because he's usually the "nice" guy or the "good" guy and I was all "Wah! Stop being mean!" He was great too. As was Morgan Freeman. Some people just can't be bad...
Anyway... I loved that even though Batman Begins was a comic book movie it didn't feel like one. The movie was serious. It took Batman and Bruce Wayne and showed them perfectly. The movie had just about everything. Drama, humor, amazing action scenes. The characters was protrayed wonderfully.
I just can't find anything bad to say about this movie right now. I freaking loved it. And I'm not easy to please when it comes to comic book movies and Batman.
ZOMG! Joker in the sequel! *bounces*
I wanna see it again! But I'm broke! *flails*
I was poking around IMDb and did you know that Christian Bale was in the Disney version of Pocahontas? He was Thomas, the little red-haired nerdy guy. Makes me want to see it again. And speaking of Christian Bale's voice... I've been in love with it since I saw the trailer for Howl's Moving Castle. (I wanna see that too... but not because Crispin Freeman is in it or anything... >_>)
And Batman Begins would have to have the trailer for The Dukes of Hazzard. The one Sean William Scott movie that I won't be watching. Before I saw the trailer I told myself "You can live through Jessica Simpson to see scruffy Sean" but I can't! I just can't... *deflates*

Date: 2005-06-18 07:05 pm (UTC)I can't believe you havn't seen ANY of Cillian's movies!! 28 Days Later?? My goodness woman, GO RENT IT< NOW! That and Intermission.
You know you're going to see Dukes of Hazzard, even I'M sacrificing myself for Scott and Knoxville.
Haha I said the same thing OMG JOKER YAY! And with Michael Caine, but he was awesome. Supposedly you ARN'T suppose to think of the other movies while watching this one (since they were all crap anyway) cause it's not a sequal, it's a new look and start for Batman, since it got off on the wrong foot altogether.

Date: 2005-06-18 09:34 pm (UTC)I heard that 28 Days Later was "meh" though. Meh! You know I can't watch things that are "meh!" If I catch it on HBO again I might watch it.
No! I refuse to pay for The Dukes of Hazzard! I'll do what I did with Tad Hamilton and wait for it to come on HBO or something. That way I don't have to pay for it even though I am. Er... I mean... uh... It's different!!
I couldn't help but think of the other Alfred. He was just so Alfred. I heard that Mark Hamill (you know Luke Skywalker) is being considered for the Joker. (He did the voice in the cartoon from the 90s.) I just hope they have Harley Quinn. She's the awesome.

Date: 2005-06-18 09:37 pm (UTC)I thought Britney Spears was bad when she was rumored to be Daisy... Jessica Simpson is worse. I really love Sean William Scott and I did sit through Tara Reid for two movies but I just can't do it for this one. I'll catch it on HBO something. I'd just feel wrong paying for it.
