In response to this meme... me rambling!

I'm gonna try to keep these as spoiler-free as possible since I don't want to spoil things for anyone. Major spoilers will be hidden.

So... on to the rambling! Keep in mind that this is pretty much all random midnight rambling that probably won't make much sense since it's just what flowed into my mind while I was thinking.


Hiane Rammsteiner, Dogs; pausedsilence
Most probably know that Badou is my favorite Dogs character since I read the first volume, but now that I've caught up with Bullets & Carnage I have to say that Haine is quickly climbing up the favorites list. It's so hard to get a handle on the characters in Dogs since we're still so early in the story, but Haine left me with the most questions in the original volume (well he probably left everyone with the most questions, but that's not the point!) about his past and what he really is.

I really like his relationship with Nill. It's not sexual in anyway (that is to say... I would never ship them) but I really enjoy the way they interact. It's very sweet. I loved the panel in chapter one of B&C where Nill is walking/standing on the tops of the pews and Haine is on the ground holding her hand. And how can I not love his interaction with Badou. Haine is the "straight man" in the team which means when he does funny things it's automatically cuter than normal (like the elevator scene in B&C chapter 3.) I'm really interested to see how his interactions with Naoto will go. :)

Plus his guns in B&C (I don't remember if they were the same as in the original volume or not) are fucking sweet. Those things auotmatically make him beyond cool.


Roy Mustang x Riza Hawkeye, Fullmetal Alchemist; whymetoday
Ah Roy/Riza... my #1 ship. Little did I know that when those two walked through the door way back in chapter 4 that I would come to love them as much as I do now. :)

Just as I'm not sure when Roy became my favorite character, I'm not really sure when Roy/Riza became a couple that I started shipping. It just happened gradually as I read the manga. I was very unsure of Roy (and his hella long bangs) in the beginning and I did just see Roy and Riza as commander and subordinate at first. But by the time Roy asked her if she'd follow him and Riza giving such simple answer I had already started to see them as a bit more and then somewhere between 16 and 38 (it could have been the Elric brothers flashback) I was totally sold on them.

I really like the way Roy and Riza work together (both as commander/subordinate and as two normal people) but then again I love the way all of Roy's group interacts. For some reason Roy and Riza really remind me of a couple from an old movie. I love the level of trust that they have and the way that Riza can all Roy and say that's she's captured a "weirdo" and he can change clothes before he goes to see what's going on. XD

I'm still really, really anxious to see their history during the war. Why exactly was Riza watching Roy in the tiny Ishbal flashback? What exactly were the words Riza told Havoc in chapter 44 referring to? (A lot of people this it was just in reference to chapter 39, but my shipper say it must be more!)

I'm also really interested how my favorite couple will get themselves out of the jam that Roy's dumbass has put them in. I'm really, really interested to see how Roy functions after losing both his arms (first Hughes and now Hawkeye). I'm looking forward to a nice big scene with them later on. :)

I can't believe I've gone through most of this without mentioning the big Roy/Riza chapters... so this will be spoilers for chapter 33-49 of the FMA manga The whole phone banter = massive love. But when the banter turned into Roy having a Hughes flash when Riza dropped the headset was what started it all. (His fear of losing people is one of the things that makes me love him so much. How can you hate a guy who refuses to throw away his subordinates?) Roy rushing to the scene and sweeping into the scene in true hero fashion to save Riza and Fuery followed by Riza giving him the lecture and Roy's reaction... love! Even to Riza answering for Roy when Al told them about Envy and them. *hearts* And then there's chapter 39. I'll admit it... even though I was still pissed at Roy for "killing" Maria Ross I was tearing up right along with Riza. Going bananas on Lust and emptying her guns, reloading, and them emptying them again and then just shutting down. I was right there with her! That was the big "you can't ignore us anymore" moment for me. I won't go into how awesome Roy was at the end of chapter 39 or how I totally though Havoc was dead, but the scene where Riza tries to go to him and Al stops her... gah! I loved every heart wrenching moment of it.

To make a long ramble short (too late!) Roy/Riza is my number one, above all other ships.


Abarai Renji x Kuchiki Rukia, Bleach, alunai
Renji/Rukia was always sort of a secondary ship for me partly because of it's general one-sidedness. I really enjoyed their banter early on (like the scene where he goes to see her in jail. Then finding out that they were childhood friends and really seeing the feelings that Renji had made me kinda worried. The childhood friends/sweethearts thing is something that is a bit cliche, but when done well it really works. Yet there are quite a few time when it doesn't work. I became very worried that Renji wouldn't progress beyond that.

Even though I feel that Renji has been screwed over one too many times (the boy hasn't even won a single fight yet!!) I still think he's a better fight for Rukia considering he's had to put up with the drawings and the Chappy nonsense since forever ago. (Although I still hope that Renji/Tatsuki can work out because that would rock. XD)
