I rarely actively seek it out. I enjoy getting it at times though. I always feel like a glory-hog or something when I actively seek it.

I got roped into watching fairly meh movies last night. I can never decide if I like Anne Hathaway or not. I'll see her in one thing and enjoy her and then see her in something else and be annoyed by her. I'm also starting to really enjoy Patrick Wilson, though I'm still baffled by casting him as Dan in Watchmen.

Also what are the odds of watching two completely unrelated movies with basically the same twist back to back? Cause that happened last night and it was kinda weird.

Class trip tomorrow! Yay! But we're not going to the movies anymore. Boo.

Also also... they've apparently cast Thor (the guy who played Kirk's dad in Star Trek) and I can actually see him working. I really hope they go the Don Blake route and not the Ultimate Thor route. (Hot doctor with a cane and a sexy nurse > Guy with a beard who everyone thinks is crazy and his Barbie jailbait.) In fact his picture here really looks like Don Blake.

Now if they can just cast Captain America so I can stop freaking out. =(

P.S. Fanbabble about Booster Gold on Batman: Brave the Bold later.

The great Catch Up On The Good TV I've Been Missing fest of 2009 is now officially starting. First up I'm gonna go with Mad Men and 30 Rock.

I've been interested in Mad Men for quite a while now, but for some reason I've been putting it off. I mean it has massive positive reviews and the extreme sexiness of Jon Hamm... but still I drag my feet. I think the big reason is because it's such a straight up drama. I caught the first episode back in December and really enjoyed it. Don is quite an interesting character (and also totally dreamy) and I was surprised by how much I liked Peggy. I want to be caught up by the time season 3 starts so I can watch it week by week.

I've also been meaning to catch up on 30 Rock for two years now. I figure pairing a series that I know is funny (at least from what I've seen of it) with the straight up drama of Mad Men will give me a nice balance and hopefully keep me interested in both. (Plus it also has Jon Hamm...)

After that I need to catch up on Supernatural, True Blood, and this season of How I Met Your Mother. I'd also like to restart Desperate Housewives since it really is a great guilty pleasure. I'd like to see Gossip Girl but I dunno...

So basically...
Now: Mad Men & 30 Rock
Then: Supernatural & How I Met Your Mother
Later: True Blood

From Is It Just Me? TV Guide's May 13-31, 2009 issue.

Did House have a ridiculously zippy detox?
One sweaty night on the couch and a little ginger tea: That's all it took for House to kick the Vicodin habit. It never looks that easy on Celebrity Rehab. So I called up Dr. Drew Pinksy. And let me tell you, VH1's guru was not amused. "I'm concerned that this show might be giving a message that opiate withdrawal is a snap," he says. "It takes five to seven days. Days. There is something called rapid opiate detox that can be done in a day. But that's done in an operating room under general anesthesia and not on a couch. And even then, [the patient's] still sick for a few days afterwards." Got it. But there's an even bigger issue House's peers will have to be worried about--besides the fact that they could all be sued for knowingly allowing an addicted doctor to practice medicine. Pinksy says newly detoxed individuals are often extremely irritable and agitated for weeks after kicking the opiate. So Dr. McCranky could get crankier? "It comes with the territory," he says. Geez, now I'm scared

Ignoring the fact that the season finale showed us why that happened... it's not like the whole "taking days to get through and being crankier than usual" thing didn't happen the last two times we went through this...

Jerry Bruckheimer better be really, really thankful that Jake Gyllenhaal has amazing abs.

Like really, really, really thankful... he should probably send them a thank you note.

1. Music Player > Shuffle
2. Take first line of 20 songs
3. Make poem

Reach out and touch faith
I want you to remember
Darling you've got to let me know
Who is the man I see

Well I've been watching
I see you blowing me a kiss
Words like violence
He told me I was worth it

Repress and restrain
Baby can't you see
You'll find it hiding in the shadows
Love, love is a verb

If there's a way that you could be everything you want to be
Only the truth
In my perfect isolation
Sometimes I've got to

I look and stare so deep into your eyes
Revenge is not a good thing, Lilly
My hands are searching for you
Don't lie to me

House Season Six
House/Wilson Finally Happens

That was so a "I'll wait for you!" ending. Though I felt they should have hugged.

So it's been a while since I did a proper update so I'm gonna try and hit the high points...

School: Finally started using MediSoft in Medical Office Procedures. It's not as bad as I was expecting, but I still haven't hit the simulations yet so that could change. Competency testing for us is this coming Wednesday. Class trip to the OKC Omniplex/science museum is on April 28th. I also finally enrolled for next year and hopefully I'll get to be a full time student this time.

Movies: Finally saw Twilight... Peter Facinelli as a blonde is just so wrong. I find it kind of funny that I saw two movies in less than a week where the best part involved a Muse song. Also I will not lie... I saw The Day the Earth Stood Still for Jon Hamm and Jon Hamm only. I honestly couldn't tell you much that happened when he was on screen. The scruff was super hot.

Books: I bought the next three Sookie Stackhouse books (Living Dead in Dallas, Club Dead, and Dead to the World). I'm almost finished with the second Night Angel book. So good. I love a series where I can actually end up liking characters I once despised. Vi has gone from "snoozefest" to "how wonderfully bitchy". Also I must stop myself from shipping Kylar and Vi since I know he won't end up with her. I also bought Confessions of a Shopaholic couple of weeks ago.

Television: Stupid Kal Penn liking stupid politics. This season of House has been so... all over the place. There's only a handful of episodes left and while I'm really not looking forward to yet another "omg Cameron is like totally in love with House!" thing or a "House could have been super happy with [insert female character here], but he pushed her away because he's a miserable wreck" thing we all know he can only be happy with Wilson, I am interested in seeing what they do for the finale. (Hopefully there will be Wilson goodness.)

I also gutted and restuffed my section of our Netflix with all the TV I've been putting off watching. I'm working through Jeeves and Wooster right now (I finished season one. I'm once again totally smitten with both Hugh Laurie and Stephen Fry.) and then it's on to Mad Men and Supernatural.

Video Games Persona: I'm in October with Persona 3. It is such fucking bullshit that you only get the best character for a month. I'll miss his badassness and the completely awesome way he used his Evoker. I still don't know how I'm going to manage The Answer side of P3 since it's equivalent to the hard version of The Journey. I expected epic fail from me though.

Manga: I'm still not caught up on Fullmetal Alchemist or One Piece. I am caught up on Reborn! though and I must say I'm glad the girls are getting their say. Though Haru is still a million times better than Kyoko. I'm also current with xxxHOLiC (I only care again because Doumeki and Watanuki are staying with each other now) and Tsubasa (What the fuck has happened to this series? Just tell me if Kurogane and Fai go off to be gay ever after so I can stop caring about this headache inducing clusterfuck.)

So like... I'm getting back into anime again... I blame it solely on the fact that there are quite a few interesting series this season. My load won't nearly be as large as it once was I'm going for roughly five series (six this season if I end up liking all the ones I'm gonna try) and then maybe one or two older series depending on if they're streaming on a legit service.

So for this season I'm going for...

Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood - I solely blame my reinterest in anime-watching on this series. Thank goodness someone is streaming it though or I probably would have drug my feet on watching it. After seeing the first episode I have to give it a thumbs up. Maybe it's just because I've been so long without seeing the first series or been so long without seeing anything... I was totally pleased.

Eden of the East - Kenji Kamiyama + Production I.G. + Chika Umino + Pantless Male Lead = I can't resist. You had me at Pantless Male Lead. (Can he dethrone Princess Tutu's Mythos as the Pantless Wonder?) Everything I've heard has been awesome. The lack of pants is just a bonus.

Guin Saga - My inner fantasy nerd took notice of the series, but I wasn't expecting much based on what little digging I did. I've heard some good things so I'll go for it.

Basquash! - What's that you say? Mecha basketball? And I still haven't heard anything negative?

Ristorante Paradiso - A fun romance series is mandatory for my new anime watching schedule.

La Corda D'Oro ~secondo passo~ - What can I say? I enjoyed the first season and it's conveniently streaming on crunchyroll. I am weak. Also it's apparently only two episodes long so... I really can't resist.

As for the older series... I'm in a toss up between finally getting around to Kaleido Star and Natsume Yuujin-Chou. I might break down and go for both if I end up not liking one of the series I'm gonna try out.

Yeah so this is my giant megapost about my trip to Tulsa and the BPA State Leadership Conference… be prepared for longness.

I told you to be prepared... )

Also leaving my cat for two and a half days has turned him into a needy love thing that’s driving us all crazy. Can’t wait to see what’s gonna happen when I’m gone for nearly a week.

Also also... I finally did catch this week's House. Wilson ♥

I think I'll change the top banner on the journal tomorrow. I'm in the mood for something red...

I finally got 100% with LEGO Batman! I enjoy that Ra's has Nightwing's move set and Hush has Two-Face's.

In other news... Fuck you, Fox. Fuck you where the sun doesn't shine. Thank you for killing any interest I had in the Wolverine movie by completely and totally butchering Deadpool. Really. Thanks. You make Wade not happy. >=( (See these three links: 1 2 3. Last one contains spoilers for said movie.)

So there are a couple of things to wtf over, but this is my biggest question: Why hasn't Tsuna realized that Haru is super hot? For that matter... why hasn't anyone realized that she's super hot?

Look at her... with the long hair... she looks totally awesome. And not only that but she's still completely fucking adorable. How has Tsuna not realized that Kyoko has nothing on her? (Well she does have her beat in the "awesome family members" category, but not in anything else!)

Stupid boys. >=(

So first I read this week's Ask Ausiello on EW.com expecting to see the usual Forteen/Huddy spoilers, but instead I find awesome Wilson spoilers much to my shock. The next episode is supposed to be a Wilsontastic episode of House. So I'm all "YES!" then I remember that House isn't on for two weeks because of some stupid 24 junk so that means the episode won't air till March 9th... which is the day I leave for competition. Dammit. At lest USA shows repeats the following week.

And now... [livejournal.com profile] scans_daily has been nuked. WTF LIVEJOURNAL WHERE WILL I GET MY AWESOME NOW?

edit: s_d mod post explaining some things including a link to the secondary community on InsaneJournal.

[Error: unknown template qotd]So like a million years ago... Cartoon Network's website had this thing where you could collect like images of their characters and stuff. I think it was called Orbit or something like that. Anyway I wanted to see what it was (and of course you had to sign up to do anything) and their usernames were set up as a randomizer that picked three different words. I clicked through it a few times and got Agent Electra Torch which I thought sounded kinda cool.

1. Put your iTunes, Windows Media Player, mp3 player, etc. on shuffle.
2. For each question, press the next button to get your answer.
3. YOU MUST WRITE THAT SONG NAME DOWN NO MATTER HOW SILLY IT SOUNDS.
4. Tag 15 friends
5. Everyone tagged has to do the same thing.
6. Have Fun!

Done with iTunes and last.fm radio since iTunes can't shuffle for beans. (And also cause I'm bored.)

Dammmmmmmmmmiiiiiitttttt...

I'm sick. My throat is sore and my nose is getting runnier by the second. Though it's only in one freaking side which is always annoying as fuck.

I can't even stay home tomorrow cause we're doing simulations for competition and I have to be there. Maybe I'll cut Tuesday if I'm still feeling run down.

P.S. Ladyhawke = Super Awesome
